So last night, after successfully getting all the kids to bed, I started on my quest to finish studying this unit for my D&C class. I have tried to finish it about three times this week...and well, you know...with four kids and a husband that is never home....
Anyways, I sit on the couch and open my scriptures and textbook, and Averi comes out to the couch. I told her to just lay down there and go back to sleep. She started squirming around, and when I looked over at her, she proceeded to empty what seemed like the equivalent of three days worth of stomach contents all over the blanket, floor, and even down into the cracks of the couch! Poor little girl....this continued throughout the night. Low and behold, I am tired today and plan on going back to bed!

Halloween
Spiderman Gavin
Ethan really wanted to be an 'Army guy.' I told him to enjoy it now, because I will never let him join the military when he gets older!

Averi was so happy with her costume. She really wanted to be a 'pink butterfly.' She even let me put her hair up and curl her bangs!
Have you ever seen a cuter scare-a-crow!
I figured that I would post there a few days before Halloween, since my children have actually already celebrated the holiday twice! I always look forward to this holiday, mainly because I look forward to making Averi's costume. I knew that I didn't have it in my hands to make all of the kids this year, but I did end up doing Wyatt's and Averi's.
FHE At The Pumpkin Patch!
On Monday night, after a lesson on baptism, (which has been the focus of our FHE's, since Ethan will be getting baptized soon), the family, minus Steve went to the pumpkin patch. It was a new one out on Taft Highway that I had never been to before. It was real fun for the kids, and Averi especially enjoyed looking at the animals that were there.
Peek-a-boo....look who I saw at the pumpkin patch!
Wyatt was just content to ride in the wagon, as long as he had a pumpkin in his lap!

It took Ethan awhile to pick out the perfect one.
Averi wanted to pick out about five perfect ones!
As we were leaving, I ran into Jason and Jamie, friends of mine from high school that live here in Bakersfield that I haven't seen in years! I stayed and talked with them for about an hour, and Averi immediately bonded with their son. When we got home she told Steve, "I have a new best friend!"

Steve's Birthday
Steve turned 35 years old on Friday! He requested the weekend off, and we had such a nice time. My parents took Ethan, Gavin, and Averi of Friday night. I cleaned the house really well, and then went and got Olive Garden to go. When Steve got home, we had a nice dinner, and then headed to Sears to get Steve a new pair of work boots. The ones he had were two years old and really thrashed! We ended up at Barnes and Noble to browse their books. We used to go on dates there a lot, and we can end up spending hours there.
On Saturday, we all met at Gavin's soccer game, and then my parents took the three kids back to their house again. Steve and I relaxed and read all day. We headed up to my parents in the afternoon, and got all four kids ready for trick-or-trunk at my parents ward building. Pappa and Grandma are saints to take all four kids to this activity, while Steve and I went out for the second night in a row.
We met up with Randy and Krystal and went to the haunted house at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Lets just say that after going through.....I realized that I definitely need to get out more. I was very scared! My stomach was actually in knots when we got out, and I think Steve's hands were squished from me squeezing them! He didn't complain though. Then all four of us went miniature golfing. It was a fun night, and made Steve and me realize that we need to go on dates more often!
Pumpkin Patch
I had the opportunity to go with Gavin and all of the first graders to the pumpkin patch at McMurray Family Farms on Wednesday. It was a really fun time, and all the kids were so excited by the bus ride! We went through the hay maze, the petting zoo, and finally a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch! Gavin has an amazing teacher, Mrs. Thornton, who always is so appreciative of parents help. I guess I don't see it as help since I really enjoy being around all the children. The downfall of the day was a serious allergy attack when I got home, but nothing a little Actifed didn't clear up.
Gavin and Savannah. She is our neighbor down the street....such a sweet girl. We have become good friends with the family, and I pick her up for school every day, while her mom brings home the boys from school in the afternoon. Her mom also watches Wyatt on Wednesdays, so that I can work in Gavin's classroom, and I watch her son on Thursdays so that she can do the same!
Gavin was so proud of his pumpkin!

Annie, This Is For You!
Since I don't get to see my family in Utah as often as I would like, I am posting these pictures for them, and especially for Annie! As we were talking on the phone a couple of nights ago, I was explaining how much Wyatt looks like Steve. Actually, they are spitting images of each other, and if I didn't puke my guts out for the first 13 weeks and go through a hellish pregnancy with Wyatt, you would think that I had nothing to do with him at all! I spend much of my day laughing at Wyatt, because he will make the same expressions as Steve does, and his lips especially are all Steve.
Anyways....you can compare for yourself!

Scooter's Jungle
This weekend we had the chance to go to Scooter's Jungle in Valencia for my nephew's birthday. It was such a fun time. I always enjoy seeing the family, but the real highlight of the day was this huge inflatable slide! They said the parents could play too, so...play I did. It was so much fun. The slide was big enough to fit all the kids and me, so we went down over and over, with only one major wipeout with Averi and me! Let me tell you....I ain't 16 anymore, because the next day, I was feeling it! Sore muscles! But, it was well worth it.
Photos from the day!
A picture of the kids and me. It isn't very often that I post myself, as I am usually the one taking the pictures!
My dad with Wyatt and Mary (Joanna's mom). My dad basically spent the day watching Wyatt so I could play! Much appreciated!
Ethan going down the giant slide!
Gavin on his stomach going down the giant slide!
Averi loved this zip line!
The kids are still talking about it, and Ethan announced that he wants to have his birthday there! Somehow, since it is in Valencia, I don't think that is going to happen!
