Celebrating Summer Vacation

Well, we started our summer celebration early. As Mom came home and took a nap, taking advantage that Steve was home today, here is what the children did to celebrate school getting out.......

Schools Out.....

Well, today was the last day of school. It is always an emotional day for me, because I find myself wondering how my kids grow up so fast. Here are some photographs of last day......

Cast Be Gone!

Averi got her cast off today. I was so excited to come home and give her a full bath, with a good scrubbing from head to toe. When they were cutting off her cast, her eyes were as big as saucers. I think she was wondering if they were taking a part of her body away. She walked out of the doctors office still holding her arm up like it was still casted. She couldn't quite figure out what to do with her arm. When we got home, I put her in the bath tub, and she was really scared to get her arm wet. I ended up having to threaten to take her back to the doctors office if she wouldn't let me get it wet and wash it. She finally relented, and when she got out, she preceeded to scratch her arm until it bled. Yuck! But anyways, I'm glad the whole experience is over. I just can't wait to get the bill!

Memorial Day

Well, it's back again. Pink eye. I swear my family is famous for this. The boys went up to Pappa and Grandma's for the weekend, and my Mom called this morning to say that Gavin woke up with pink eye. I was really upset because last week, one of the mothers in his kindergarten class sent her son to school knowing he had pink eye, and since then, three other students have gotten it, including Gavin. Well, for Memorial Day, we planned a b-b-q with the Norris Family. Since Gavin hasn't been home in three days, my parents offered to keep them for awhile longer through the b-b-q, so we could continue with our plans without infecting everyone. Anyways, we had a nice time with the Norris Family, some good food, thanks to Lani's pasta salad, and Steve's b-b-q skills! Here are some pictures that I wanted to post. I will really miss them. I think Averi will too, considering she always says, "My Janie!" I am going to try this week, and not focus on my sadness with their move to Utah, because the truth is I am really happy for them, and I know Lani has wanted to return to Utah for awhile. I have decided that I am just not good with change, and I want to keep my family and friends nice and close to me. Anyways, enough for my emotional tangent.

My Beauty Queen

It is definitely time to invest in some pretend makeup. How many times lately have I asked Averi to stay out of my lipstick? :) At least this time she actually got her lips! However, she also drew art over the rest of her entire body, including her cast. Steve got the honors of cleaning her up this time, because Mom was busy catching up on the last episode of Desperate Housewives.

How To Loose 11 Pounds in Four Days!

Well, as I sit here reading about everyones wonderful Mother's Day, I find myself a bit jealous. I love Mother's Day, and it is my favorite Sunday to attend church, because I love to hear the children sing to me in sacrament meeting. Anyways, this year for Mother's Day, I invented a new diet. You know, kind of like the famous Hollywood Diet, "I lost ten pounds in two days!" It started Saturday evening, and I thought I had a touch of food poisoning. I threw up over and over. On Sunday, I basically stayed in bed all day, and continued to throw up. Come Monday, the couch became my best friend, and the boys started joking that Mom's new boyfriend in the toilet bowl. Ha, Ha.... Anyways, it continued through Tuesday evening. I am finally feeling better, and actually 11 pounds lighter. This is really disgusting, but the kids made a new game out of my sickness, and I can only now laugh at it because I am feeling better. Anyways, the game went something like this. 'Let's guess the color of Mom's puke when she comes out of the bathroom!' Then they would get all excited if they were correct! Yuck!

These Precious Moments!

I love those moments of firsts for my children. You know....the ones that melt your heart and bring a huge smile to your face. This happened to me today. Steve was changing Wyatt's diaper, and he called me into the room. When I got there, Steve said,"watch this." He gave Wyatt a big zerbert on the cheek, and Wyatt started laughing really hard. His first laugh. He just kept on crakcing up over and over again. I had to get the camera and record it. Even though I don't think the camera picked up any sound, I still had to post it, because it is so cute!
